What is the End Game for the left?
#43
The biggest problem we have is that there are only two real parties with any power, and most of the population lives in an area that is controlled by a large majority of one party. In these types of areas in the country the members of just one party are really fighting among themselves for power, and that means the candidates are forced to take the most extreme positions of that in order to get elected.

The answer to this problem is to change the rules to let some third party (parties) get some power. It doesn't have to be a big chunk of power. It just has to be big enough to keep either of the two major powers from having a majority. Under these situations politicians would be forced to form alliances and negotiate away from extreme positions in order to get anything done. With just two parties one side generally has a majority and the minority party just pitches a fit and tries to obstruct the other side from getting everything they want.

And that is why Ted Cruz became a super hero for reading Green Eggs and Ham.
