The big L's are crazy. Most aren't, hence Gary winning the nomination, but enough are crazy enough to nominate an internet troll who calls everyone statists. 

There's definitely a chunk of them who are secretly anarchists, they just hate the implication that anarchy means chaos. They believe that we can live without a government and will try to argue that Irish clans under British rule are an example.
