LOL. Simmons said during his press conference that he worked out Gonzalez, Elliott, and another kicker, and Elliott was chosen because  he was superior in kickoffs.  He also said Gonzalez has kicked mostly in climates like Arizona, and it's much different here.  So those were his reasons for choosing Elliott.  He also said Elliott is not a lock.  He has to compete with Bullock.
