We have evolved from the ancient Romans, as that is what they would have done. The best way to prevent as many of these attacks as possible is to continue to strengthen our border security (all borders from air, water, land). Strengthen vetting measures on who does enter our country from overseas. Profiling to some extent. And cyber-spy on possible suspects.
