Jokes aside, that's pretty shitty that Italy has been pretty much been made unable to act by the EU. 200,000 people by sea alone last year in a country of 60m. 23,000 people in May this year. That's the equivalent of the US getting over 1m people, population-wise. Just from the sea. Not counting the cost of it and the cost of patrolling the waters and saving them all.
