No one is forcing these people to do anything.  They are just giving them good advice that will help them out.  Education is a powerful tool of change.  We never made cigarettes illegal but we have dramatically reduced the number of people who smoke through education programs.

Since when is giving helpful advice a BAD thing?

Helpful advice on smoking. Doesn't result into a person being killed. And anti smoking efforts werent directed at the poor only.

If you were advocating Abortions to save the life of the mother then that would be similar to the smoking analogy.
