I've read this one, but I've also read one that goes further to discuss the odd human practice of face to face intercourse. They draw say it's psychological, suggesting we're inclined to seek that comfort/nurture/safety from childhood. Women prefer to have their nipples stimulated during sex, so it goes both ways with imitating the maternal bond.
