For-profit charter schools bill taxpayers for empty desks

This is a problem that occurs in more than just charter schools, but it does demonstrate the issue with oversight of charter and private schools. We are legally obligated to pay for students to go to outside schools if we are found to be unable to meet their needs. They get the money but whether or not the kid shows up is another issue.

Schools like this are necessary as they fill a role that the public school cannot always fill, but the oversight is the issue.
