I had some life experiences, as well as gained some knowledge, that led me to a more liberal position. This results in me often siding with Democrats. That being said, I have a lot of problems with the typical Democratic positions. I am not a neoliberal of the current Democratic Party, I am much more of a social liberal of the days of FDR. I know what good government can be, and I may be a bit idealistic in my views, but I want to try to make that happen. The party is a tool, a means to an end. But I am not afraid to vote elsewhere, as I did a year ago, today.
