I don't think anyone tries, but rather Trump does it himself.

In all seriousness, though, national polling isn't as relevant in the primaries given the fact that states vote at different times and that candidates who are popular in one state may not even be running by the time that state votes. That and a majority of Republicans still say they won't vote for him. Trump's steam won't die until the field is narrowed, though. Once you have less choices, you'll see people rally behind a more feasible candidate.
