Not really Phil. I don't think the players or coaches are involved whatsoever. But if you think about it, referees could stall drives or keep drives alive with nothing more than holding calls.
The consensus is, that, technically, there is holding, of some sort, on just about every play. It's already been admitted that certain teams, get preferential treatment. I truly believe that there is a level of NFL shenanigans going on with the referees. No proof other than examples I've seen in the last 6 or 8 years.
