Should The Players Be Asked About The Next HC?

Are they players or advisors? A coaching hire should be a reflection of the vision of the Owner/GM. It doesn’t help that ours has blurred vision. If I’m an owner, I’d have a small group of advisors with extensive knowledge regarding things like this. Current players would be a conflict of interest. If you have a player that’s close to retiring and there are plans to bring him into the front office, then maybe. It gets murky if you mix player and management responsibilities.
