Alas, no need to hope.  I can confirm you're wrong.  

If we were filling the last spots, why did our starters play so long?

Were we trying to judge their ability to tackle by turning it over repeatedly?

Were we practicing situational football with all the penalties?

The sky isn't falling because of one awful preseason game, but don't blow sunshine up my ass by pretending that it wasn't an awful preseason game.
