For the record this is not a criticism of the current admin so much as a criticism of all recent admins, who have made being friendly with the U.S. a bad proposition.

Sure, the Kurds were a bulwark against Saddam and the tip of the spear against ISIS--last year. 

I guess the question is, what have they done for us lately?

We've seen this movie before.  Indigenous group gives their lives to help a US cause,
then expects us to help them with the blowback. There's one born every minute!
