As I've made the point that I would not doubt that he said it, but I have also said I doubt it was done out of racism. As he has said many times He is the President of the United States, not the President of the World. That dynamic is a little shocking to some after the previous 8 years

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if he said it and if you put a gun to my head, I'd say he DID say it, but it is amusing to me to see people not only take it as fact, but then extrapolating that it means this and that. I mean, God damn, this thread is 12 pages long for something Trump may not have even said!
