Perhaps you could define what you think a "shred" is?  To me it's not "I forget what he said but it wasn't that for sure".  That's the Sessions Method.  "I don't remember what we talked about at the meeting...but FOR SURE wasn't something illegal!" 

Evidence is a firm "No.  He said this instead I am sure of it."

Yet no one has said that.
