SHRacer Final Mock (SIM) LOVE IT!!!
#1
This has to be my favorite mock/sim thus far (that I have run). I will give a brief rationale for the selections as well. I am not skilled in the art of clipping pics and/or videos but I hope you all will check these out.

Your score is: 22045 (GRADE: A-) (I could care less what grade it gave me....I loved this one)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 21: James, Derwin, SS/FS, Florida State (A)- No longer "just getting by" with safety play. This guy is a huge playmaker and leader. Love his physicality and athleticism. With the only first round grade OT gone, I went with the Jimmy Johnson philosophy: "Give me playmakers".

Round 2 Pick 14: Ragnow, Frank, C/OG, Arkansas (B)- Another position where the Bengals have just been "getting by" for some time. No longer. Ragnow is a mauler with tons of experience against top-flight competition. Andy Dalton probably won't know what to do with a pocket not falling on his lap, and not coincidentally names his next son "Frank".

Round 3 Pick 13: Brown, Orlando, OT, Oklahoma (A)- His Pro Day was much better than his combine, which he obviously just rested rather than prepared for. There simply are not many people on the planet that have his size, strength, and experience at the tackle position. He wins the job at RT and is there a decade.

Round 3 Pick 36: Dawson, Duke, CB, Florida (A+)- Bye Bye, Pacman. Hello, Duke! Our slot corner that has the instincts and short-space quickness and competitiveness to blanket slot WRs. Watch his tape against Christian Kirk from Texas A&M. Blanketed that dude.

Round 4 Pick 12: Thomas, Ian, TE, Indiana (A+)- A bit of a project, as he has very little game experience at Indiana, but is taking to coaching very well (not unlike Cody Core did out of Mississippi). This guy has monster arms and hands and could project as more of an inline blocking TE that can still move the sticks on short routes. With more emphasis on the rushing attack, this guy could prove his worth in gold. The Bengals have three TEs that all have the same skill set (with varying levels of talent) and they all aren't adept blockers. This guy can do both.

Round 5 Pick 14: Norton, Kendrick, DT, Miami (FL) (A+)- Ok, maybe I fell in love with the bloodlines here, but he has strength and power to plug the NT position. He may not offer a lot of pass rush, but he will eat blocks and is a sure tackler. Very underrated player if you watch all his film. Not a guy that will be moved off his spot.

Round 5 Pick 21: Lazard, Allen, WR, Iowa State (A+)- A WR? I know, I know. Lazard was a guy that I watched a lot at Iowa State and I couldn't get over how he ALWAYS seemed to come down with the ball. He could have two guys one him and would outfight them both and make the reception. What I want to do with Lazard might be a bit of a stretch for the Bengals, but it makes sense. He works with strength and conditioning all year and projects as a move TE. The guy has the frame to do it, and you simply can't teach hands and competitiveness. He is a classic "possession receiver" right now with a very big catch radius...a bit like Michael Thomas at New Orleans, but not quite as quick. He could be Eifert 2.0, though, with a year to develop.

Round 5 Pick 33: OConnell, Cody, OG, Washington State (B-)- Basically, this is my backup RT to groom behind Orlando Brown (and push in case he becomes complacent. A massive body that held up well against sure first rounder, Vita Vea. Probably one of the only guys to project as a tackle FROM the guard spot, but the WSU offense was all about quick strikes and their QB (Falk) just needed a clean pocket in the middle for a second to get the ball off. He is way too tall to be a guard, but his length and size would be amazing with a year to develop at RT. If he really pans out, he could get time as the "extra OT" in short yardage.

Round 7 Pick 31: Winbush, Anthony, OLB, Ball State (A)- As a former MAC guy myself, I love watching the wacky MAC. This guy jumped off the screen and plays with his hair on fire. A developmental guy that would project as a pass-rush specialist.

Round 7 Pick 34: Carlson, Daniel, K, Auburn (A+)- Just making sure Fat Randy doesn't get any fatter.

Round 7 Pick 35: Flowers, Tre, SS, Oklahoma State (A+)- Athlete that needs some coaching. Could surprise.

Thoughts?
