I am all for better gun laws to keep them out of the hands of those that shouldnt have them, but it seems the Parkland tragedy wasnt a cut n dry case of one singular reason, whether its gun control or a policy.
What we have seen here is that policies weren't followed. This isn't uncommon, we want the people at the ground level to have flexibility when applying policies. Whether those be teachers, administrators, law enforcement, whomever, there should be an allowance for some discretion. Unfortunately, that discretion being utilized by multiple people in multiple agencies allowed this person to fall through the cracks. It's unfortunate, and it is bound to happen.
