Personally I would love to see moderates from both parties break off and form their own party, as both parties dont seem to aim for the middle anymore. And a party of moderates is where I would be, because I loathe the "bible thumping gun toting Muricans" on the right & the "hippie tree hugging socialists" that want government to pay for everything on the left.

The only issue with what you're saying here is that the establishment GOP has run to the right, but the establishment Democrats have stayed with their neo-liberal ways, resisting the liberal movements. Really, what would be the more likely scenario is a party that is more left wing splits off because of the unhappiness with the DNC. I mean, I'm an FDR style of liberal and I am telling you that the DNC is too far too the right. We (social democrat style) fall between the Bernie and Hillary contingents, so it's a difficult situation.
