GOP congressman once lamented not being able to call women names

There's a lot wrong there, and, in regard to political issues, it falls in line with the head scratching position of the right to try and reduce birth control access and promote having more kids as an answer to fixing the economy.

That said, I'm not sure what the point is in a 2-year old story of a Republican behaving badly.

Limbaugh appeared not to know or care about that, equating insurance-covered estrogen with taxpayer funded sex--and lots of it--since Limbaugh also seems to have thought that women use the pills as needed for sex, like condoms. A thousand dollars worth of condoms in a year??

So, in an act of what Lewis called "entertainment," Limbaugh publicly branded Fluke a "woman who sleeps around with a lot of people."  Doubtful, since she was a graduate student with a very busy schedule. She was singled out for testifying on a health care issue, which Rush and the Right countered with unfounded slander, defending the right of men to slander in the case of the OP above.

Also, the Right is getting rather too much mileage out of the "deplorables" comment, given whom they placed in the White House.  Trump doesn't call people "deplorable" for behaving deplorably. He calls them "liars" and "second raters" and makes fun of their looks for opposing him, especially for reporting the truth and asking tough questions. You agree that this is what Trump does, right? You are not a Trump supporter and are not invested in shoring up his brand.

Don't misunderstand me. I don't support the things that Lewis said. Just pointing out yet another instance of hypocrisy in that the same people who defended Clinton's 'deplorables' comment are now upset at Lewis'.
