That is an option that judges can give convicted criminals, in some cases. A guy I went to high school with got that ultimatum when he was 18. Join the military or go to jail.
The most common argument against, that I see, is the logistics of birthing and showering. Although, I find it sad/funny/ironic that “tough guys” are afraid to sleep or shower with anybody except straight men.
