This.  When I was a teacher this was my biggest issue and fight.  All too often some person, who is by all accounts a very intelligent person and has done good things in the field they studied or worked in, gets a "great idea".  So many people believe that being a teacher doesn't require a lot and anyone can do it.  Let me tell you.  I taught in a state that you could be a teacher without an education degree.  You just needed a degree of some sort and go through the PACE program.  Within a very short period of time we could tell who was a PACE educator vs one that actually studied how to do it.
