I think the current pope is a much more clever con man than his predecessor. He realized the church was dying in the developed world due to its neolithic stances on many social issues. He has cleverly turned that around and has the church being viewed by many as progressive. To me it's all bullshit though, he's a good bullshitter but he's still a bullshitter. His golden rule speech is pure drivel. I wish someone had to balls to actually ask the question, does treating others like you'd like to be treated extend to after you die where your church condemns all non-believers to an eternity of gruesome torture? Make no mistake this guy is the same crap with a new, shiny, box.
