Seems like some easy alternatives.
Since we're trying to go back to the opulence and waste of the 80s, then do it Scrooge style and go outside the box.
Can't use real tanks? Go one better. Make giant hollow chocolate tanks. Fill em with strippers. When the fireworks start going off, have someone dressed up as Antifa run up and spray SOCIALISM on the tanks, then some guys in riot gear show up and smash the tanks with clubs, freeing the strippers who throw chocolate chunks into the crowd. The fireworks can explode in time to the smashing.
We can tax milk or some low brow crap to pay for it.
