I just hope that we were wrong. 'Cause I hate to think that if the decisions are currently being made mostly Katie and Zac and Duke etc. and NOT Mike, than we're going to possibly suck worse for longer than we did in the 90s.

A bit of luck can play into a draft...both bad and good at some level. Drafting a guy like Atkins in the 4th Round and then him turning into a HOF-caliber player is a bit of luck and they did a good job developing him. We just had a string of 3-4 drafts that were pretty good to great.

We've since failed to even have 1 of that caliber.

Supposedly what Marvin was doing was using the draft pundits/scouting services and just going BAP. It seemed to work.

Now, we're taking guys like Sample 2 rounds too early.
