I'm kind of surprised by how many posts I'm seeing where people say we should franchise him.
That’s because most here know the type of WR the Bengals brain trust will sign in free agency. If they’re lucky they’ll sign a LaFell instead of a Bryant. If it’s a LB, it will be a Preston Brown or Karlos Dansby or AJ Hawk signing that sounds good in March but looks like shit in November. And the Bengals have enough immediate draft needs already they can’t be adding more needs to the list. The first pick is most likely Joe Burrow as it stands right now. The second pick needs to be an offensive lineman because the QB can’t throw to a WR while flat on his back. Which means maybe they get a WR in the 3rd and a LB in the 4th at best.
