Only one way I would trade down is to get a huge hoard in return. Chicago overpaid by a 1st rounder to get Trubisky. I mean, that's the starting point...overpay me a lot.

The advantage of picking 1st is that you hold the cards. You don't have to worry about a run at certain positions or other teams trading in front of you.
