Fact is, other than a small increase in 2015-2016, the US violent crime rate has gone down every year compared to the year before it since 2005-2006, which was also a tiny spike period that ended another long streak of decreasing violent crime since 1991.

So there have only been 4 years where the violent crime rate has increased compared to the previous year since 1991, and yet this article is trying to make it seem like a recent trend of bail reforms are the cause. It's a bad article.


I saw that also.

I agree with the policy, but this story was a bit biased.
