I've been thinking about this too. We could actually trade WJIII, and doing so would clear 9.5M in cap space. Cutting Kirkpatrick (who has no trade value) would only save around 8.2M I think. And Kirkpatrick is a dedicated team leader (even if he can't tackle). 

In the end I think it's just because they believe in loading up at CB and D-line and seeing which cheap players than can acquire at LB and S. But I wouldn't be shocked to see a WJIII trade. Lack of ball production from our CBs was one of our bigger problems, and a lot of that was WJIII.
