Who would the "special interests" be that the Democrats siphoning money to? People in need of healthcare? Laid off workers?
The special interests are the citizens. I mean, "special interests" is a moronic boogie man term, anyway, but in this situation the Democrats are proposing things that would help the people more, rather than corporations. They have attempted to attach some strings to the money for corporations/industries because, well, the government should attach strings to money going to business interests that failed to make adequate plans for things like this, but Republicans just want to hand out free money, instead.
