God gave them different languages so they would scatter and fill the whole earth as He commanded them to do.
If indeed this is the case and God doesn't mind interfering with the "free will" of man for his own purposes, why did he not change the language of the serpent so that Eve could not be tempted by it? He did tell them not to eat from the tree didn't he? Isn't their disobedience supposedly the reason we have "sin", death, clothes, and misery today?
In modern days, serpents don't talk to people so how big of a deal would it had been for serpents not to talk to people then?
