The National Review defends Bernie on rape essay
#10
Two things: first, as someone pointed out, his comments about fantasy are not factually incorrect, in spite of the National Review "challenging" them. This "challenge" is what passes for journalism in the U.S. these days. A few lines are lifted out of context and the NR says, "well, where did he get his facts from?" while providing no facts of its own. And second, the NR piece comes off as a bit of a "I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him" ploy. The NR would really hate to see Sanders smeared over something (which NR suggests is controversial, while providing no evidence it is or was) he wrote a long time ago (but they cherry pick the essay for the most inflammatory thing they can find and highlight it with no context). Yeah, they would really hate to see this used against Sanders. You bet they would! Way to take the high road, NR! Smirk
JOHN ROBERTS: From time to time in the years to come, I hope you will be treated unfairly so that you will come to know the value of justice... I wish you bad luck, again, from time to time so that you will be conscious of the role of chance in life and understand that your success is not completely deserved and that the failure of others is not completely deserved either.
