Of course not, which is why we don't send kids to jail in this country when their parents commit crimes. We also will often not send people to jail for misdemeanors when circumstances would leave a child without a legal guardian as separating a child from a parent, and throwing the child into the system, would be deemed cruel and unusual punishment by most.
