Finley was awful at QB and so was Allen...

Seibert is a weekly inactive, but they could make Finley or Allen inactive in his place.

If this team really cared that much about winning a game or two out of the remaining five, Kaepernick probably makes the most sense to take a gamble on.
He isn't highly accurate but he's more accurate than Allen or Finley, plus he can extend plays with his legs.

FWIW, I don't think it makes sense to bring in another QB for the rest of the season because I want Pick #3 for Sewell.
But I would consider Kaepernick, Fitzpatrick, Tyrod Taylor, Winston, or McCarron to back up Burrow for next year. Any of them would be better than Finley or Allen IMO.

Having another player available who you don't have to decide to play until the morning of the game is valuable. How about 5 inactive kickers then, since it is so moot? Compete in the morning, best kicker plays and the rest are inactive.

Another QB, O-lineman, LB, DT, etc. in the building. Can learn the playbook, be at practice, and if he beats out any one of the dumpster fires we roll out, give them the start. Nope, second kicker collecting a Cincinnati Bengals paycheck for several weeks is what this team needs.

Only due to COVID rules, otherwise we 100% would not be carrying another K on the roster.

Inactive, we had:

- Fred
- Keaton Sutherland
- Finney

One has proven his worth a solid swingman/decent starter, the other has proven his worth as a good backup that can play C in a pinch and the other is a versatile guy that has proven he can play every position on the line, albeit some of them not well.

As for LBs, we have 6 suiting up and playing a healthy amount of snaps.

And then for DTs, we have plenty of good ones (for this point in the season) on the roster; Covington has played super-hard, X-man has been ok, Khalil McKenzie played and he's been your on/off development guy, Geno is still meh for this year and then we rotate guys inside.

I 100% agree with your point, but with Fat Randy's week 1 and the fact that COVID could crop up at any time, it makes sense to keep a second kicker, thus it's moot.
