He's played in 24 games since the start of 2019 and has only 4.5 sacks, 4 TFL, and 20 total pressures.
The 4.5 sacks, 4 TFLs, and 20 pressures came from 2019 (16 games). He has 0 in each of those categories this season.

It just makes too much sense to not gamble Atkins getting back to form at the cost that his contract commands ($14.8 mill in 2021, $16 mill in 2022). But then again, I said the same thing about AJ Green last year regarding the franchise tag.
 Last season our Defensive line was a lot better when we had the starting D-Line out there. Hubbard, Dunlap, and Lawson all produced at high level. A lot of that had to do with Atkins creating havoc up the middle. Secondly he didn't produce this season because he hardly played and he evidently had a serious injury.  
Saying he is done might be a huge stretch at this point.
