But they didn’t quit in that game either, which I can’t tell if that’s what you’re trying to insinuate.  They were completely outclassed from a player standpoint beyond belief.  It was no surprise it happened, knowing how many of our players were out.

As in what? Literally walking off the field and forfeiting? You’re right, they didn’t do that. However the effort was truly abysmal, and no amount of injuries can excuse it.
