52-22
#1
Today in London the Cincinnati Bengals ran 74 offensive plays; only 22 of them were rushing plays. That means the rest were made through the air and no quarterback on planet earth will win a game by throwing the ball 52 times. It doesn’t happen.

Without improving the run game the Bengals will go 0-16. That’s “will,” not “if.” Today the Bengals ran for 104 yards against the Rams which is a high mark for the season; Joe Mixon went for 66 yards himself. This is also the eighth week where Cincinnati running backs did not score a rushing touchdown. That’s their job, by the way.

It seems to me on short yardage run plays a jumbo package might be a temporary answer. Add two tackles; one on each side. That creates a C-gap on each side, giving opposing linebackers two more gaps to close.

This offense is unbalanced and therefore predictable.
