That seems to be when republicans actually say something.

She never mentioned them.  

Not all people who "pounced" on this story as a way to say racism isn't real (for example) were republicans. Racism doesn't belong to just one party, it's just been adopted by the leaders of one party as a good way to rile up it's base for votes.
