Seems to me that Alexander's biggest problem was simply being hard headed.  He failed to evolve as the rest of the sport evolved around him, clinging to ideals who's time had come to pass.

With that said, I'm rather annoyed at the lack of any news on serious candidates to fill the OL coach position.
