Try wearing a Swastika t-shirt while wearing a Hitler Mustache and walk around NYC telling people "it's cool, I am just a Buddhist who loves Charlie Chaplin". It won't work well.

That doesnt make the term any less correct.

Occupational hazard, you call something what it is, not what someone interprets it as being. If a horse is a horse, you call it a horse. Just because the locals call it a four legged pogo stick doesn't mean you do, too.
