Our local news reporters however can't talk. They didn't even know what was coming down the pike rumored or whispered. They looked like fools attacking people thinking trading Burfict was outrageous. Then the suspension hit and everyone on the net was like OH, now it makes sense.
I don't know if the rumors were true or not, but I'm sure Renkel feels he got the scoop.
I've not been able to find any articles corroborating Renkel's report, btut feel free to share if you come across any at some point as I would be interested in seeing what unfolded. Look, if the Raiders called the Bengals or something and were told they could have him for an absurd kings ransom, that doesn't = Reporting "Working on a trade". I agree with the local beat writers sometimes (not always) being a step behind, but when Lap shot it down as laughable, I feel like that's as solid of an inside source as we can get. Hell, maybe some day something will spill out from this, but until then.... it's bogus.
