I don't know that Austin was even a motivational speaker. It sure didn't seem like the players were ultra-motivated last year on defense when he was DC. 

Now that you mention it, I think your right. They didn’t quite buy in on his style. One thing however, was in the first 5 games, the defense won 2 of those because they were focusing on getting the ball back. Austin may or may not have been the big contributor to this. So, I will give him some credit there. But as an overall DC, there was nothing stellar there with him.
