The kicking battle should be over...

Add in the fact that every year in the NFL new players emerge and are great, and there is enough faulty logic to lead fans to believe they're missing out.  Hell, one huge knock against Marvin was that he insisted on playing vets over young guys who might be great.  Every year we go into the season griping that our bench is full of young could-be stars that are going to forever languish behind the Randy Bullocks, Brandon Lafells, etc.

For proof, we replaced a HC with a winning record with a QB coach and people are over the flippin' moon about it.  Nothing can compare to the feeling of newness and projected optimism.

To expand on this, the fans view Bullock in the same light they viewed Peko, Michael Johnson, Brandon LaFell, etc.
They were solid contributors but they had a lower ceiling. The fans want someone with a higher ceiling and want the team to take a risk rather than play it safe. Unfortunately, sometimes this backfires but they expect and trust that the organization can identify good talent and turn them into elite players.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Patience has paid off!

Sorry for Party Rocking!
