I checked with our insurance lady and she said it would cover replacing the windshield but we would have to cover the deductible. Safelite is giving me an estimate of $1200. I could get the basic windshield I guess, but that makes the other technology I paid for useless. What's the point in that?


Is it covered under "collision" or "comprehensive".  I don't believe a claim on the comprehensive coverage has as much effect on your rates.  If you have not had a claim in a while I don't think one claim of any type will cause your rates to rise.

But I am far from an insurance expert.
