That a guy should care about losing his starting job?

That trust exists after a player earns it? Yeah, that's not unique to athletes, that's the entire world. If a person has already shown they are both good and trustworthy, they are given more leeway than someone who hasn't been around long and while they have been around they've been unreliable and unproductive.
