I know but I just figured they'd thoroughly comb the area where she wrecked, even in times more recent than she wrecked. 

I do realize the oceans are huge and there's still parts that we've never seen but it was found right where she disappeared and I'm sure there's been lots of people over the years that have been obsessed with searching for her.
