Cleveland is in an interesting position.
Whether we wanna admit it or not, despite our playoff history, we're one of the teams you wanna model your franchise after and what better way to do that than with Hugh?
So, they got their guy that they're gonna stick with for the long haul. Hugh will be there when AJ's contract is up, at which point they'll throw the kitchen sink at him to come reunite with Hugh. Unless AJ is dead set on playing for a particular team, he'll sign.
I guarantee this is one of their plans, unless by some miracle they find a QB before then, which they won't.
AJ is a perfect fit because he's not a rookie, has played well enough to raise some eyebrows and has a history with Hugh, the only offensive coach he's known. They'd be foolish not to do whatever it takes to get AJ. So, either way, that's where AJ is gonna end up. So we'd be just plain dumb not to get something for him and right now, his value is at a premium. We can and should get sweet deal for him and let the chips fall where they may. I bet we could trade him for a 3rd/4th and swap out 1sts and prolly even swap out 2nds to sweeten the pot because of the division rivalry. That's a good deal all round. Hell, we could prolly even get a better deal than that from them.
