It's a numbers game...

Yep, and Tom Brady was making a fraction (literally, about 1/100th) of what Drew Bledsoe was making, and a smart coach stuck with him even after his much more expensive QB had returned healthy.  Seattle never even went with their much more expensive QB (Matt Flynn) over 3rd rounder Russell Wilson (again, for a fraction of the cost).

Both those teams won Super Bowls.  It appears to be a numbers game that the Bengals aren't winning.
