1) Emergency QB- can be activated from PS an unlimited number of times but that elevation still counts towards the 2 PS players allowed for each game. Incentive to sign an experienced QB to place on the PS instead of a developmental player?
2) IR-2 players can now be designated for return before final cutdowns...no more tapdancing to save a guy from season-ending IR
3) trade deadline changed to after week 9
4) challenges are now allowed to determine if a QB was down or out of bounds before passing
5) a 3rd challenge is awarded after just 1 successful challenge not 2
6) play clock expiration can be challenged
7) hip drop tackled banned-lots of work for the defensive coaches to do in training camp
8) kick-offs-mirrors the XFL rules. This will add all sorts of strategic opportunities. Lots of work for Simmons and company here too
-The kicking team lines up at the receiving team's 40 and cannot move until the kick is caught or hits the ground (do they need faster guys on kick-off team?)
-The receiving team has a majority of players at their own 35 and also cannot move. The whole idea is to prevent high-speed impacts
A landing zone is set between the end zone and 20-yard line. Any kick landing here must be returned by either of the 2 players in this area. Any kick landing
short of the landing zone is considered out of bounds and results in the ball being placed at the 40.
-kicks into or out of end zone will be placed at the 30.]]>false2024-03-26T13:21:11Z2024-03-26T13:21:11Zhttp://thebengalsboard.com/Thread-Good-Work

I would rather see us trade Browning to the Broncos. We get pick 12, they get pick 18. We also get their 4th round pick.
Denver needs a starting QB and are strapped for cap space.
We can get a franchise RT with pick 12, not so sure with #18.
Then we trade up earlier in round 2 using our other 10 picks (we added one with Denver trade in 4th) to get Sweat in round 2.]]>false2024-03-25T15:07:41Z2024-03-25T15:07:41Zhttp://thebengalsboard.com/Thread-Should-Jake-Browning-Prepare-to-Start
"Everything is encouraging and tracking well for the offseason program and we'll continue to give him space to rehab. Everything is going exactly the way we hoped it would go. We've always targeted this offseason program as a good time for him to be back out there with the guys."
The “space to rehab” phrase gives me enough pause to ask a question: Might it be best to have Jake Browning start the season? Jake proved himself late last season and I don’t see why he can’t win some early games while Joe gets back to 100%. We saw what Joe can do at less than 100% and, well, let’s just say it’s less than ideal. Finally, I’m concerned about Joe’s long term viability.
Now of course if Joe Burrow is 100% healed and his rehab is complete before the season starts then he should start; no question there. But, just in case, what about starting Jake?]]>false2024-03-25T14:48:48Z2024-03-25T14:48:48Zhttp://thebengalsboard.com/Thread-ZT-Notes-from-Coaches-Breakfast-Burrow-Updatehttps://www.bengals.com/news/zac-taylor-nfl-meetings-joe-burrow-tee-higgins-dax-ja-marr-chase
_When it comes to nose tackles or cornerbacks or basically any position, it's always free agency.
"Duke's job never ends," Taylor said of Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin. "It's something we always assess. Free agency doesn't end. We continue to have conversations every day and it will bleed into the draft at some point."
_The Tee Higgins trade rumors? Taylor sounded like a trade is the last thing on his mind.
"We're excited for Tee to have a great year for us. We think he's our best chance to help us win a Super Bowl," Taylor said. "I've enjoyed working with Tee over the last four years and I expect this year to be another good one."
_Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow said earlier this month he expects to be fully cleared by mid-May as he comes back from surgery for a torn ligament in his throwing wrist. On Monday, Taylor said everything he hears continues to be positive.

Bengals OL came in dead last with an average RAS of 4.11 (poor).
The second-closest was Rams at 5.44.
Falcons had the most athletic bunch at 9.78.
Obviously, being the most athletic doesn't translate to "best," but it is useful if trying to understand how some teams may be able to get better.
What do you think, should the Bengals try to draft more athletic OL?]]>false2024-03-24T22:49:39Z2024-03-24T22:49:39Zhttp://thebengalsboard.com/Thread-Bengals-say-willing-to-trade-Higgins-for-right-offer
Google up Higgins and you see many news sources over the last 24 hours of March 24th say Bengals are willing to trade and looking for the best offer.
So do not be surprised if Higgins is gone before Bengals draft. Yes, Bengals could drag this out. I like the idea of trading him for draft picks and moving on without him. Higgins wants traded, so trade him and get some draft picks.
Money wise, Bengals need to resign Chase long term in 2024. So paying Higgins in 2024 all this high price franchise tag money doesn't help. Bengals could get players early in draft at much lower pay than Higgins. Trading Higgins and somehow getting Harrison in the draft would be perfect, but unlikely. Bengals are saying they are looking at trading him as he wants, if a team makes the right offer. There is talent besides Marvin Harrison Jr to bring in for Burrow to throw to. Would love to get Harrison pick somehow in a Higgins trade, but unlikely.
GO BENGALS

I feel like their sign % is good as hell. I have no way of tracking this so maybe one of you have been. Idk but it seems like if we get dudes in the building they dont leave without a contract. I know it just happened with Becton but im sure we offered him 1 year and he wanted 2 or 3. Ima just assume we didnt give Brown and Becton insanely different offers. Browns was probably a small bit more expensive but no way it was by alot]]>false
