Looks like a low risk high reward type of move. The guy was a 5 tool star in the making before injuries waylaid his career. Hopefully, we'll get as lucky with him this year as we were with Straily last year.
5 tool, so his pants fit like a glove.
Minor league contract, so no risk.. but I don't see how he's really any better of an option at this current time than Steve Selsky, who they let go.

He has the option to become a free agent if he doesn't make the club so yeah..low risk.. I doubt he really wants to toil around in AAA ball with them, but who knows?
